The Tibetan Freedom Torch’s next stop was Rapperswil. It supported the Tibetan national team - also known as the Forbidden Team - against selected prominent supporters of Tibet who are also known for having a football-loving heart. The team of celebrities from different areas like music, politics and sports called “Friends of Tibet” didn’t stand a chance against the Tibetan national team (end result 2:9). However, the ambience at this solidarity match that attracted more than 2500 spectators was unique. This event was a perfect example for how sports can be a positive force for connecting people and enhancing cultural and international understanding.
