June 23-30 - New Zealand - Aotearoa - Land of the Long White Cloud
Keeping in the tradition of covering the whole of New Zealand the Tibetan Freedom Torch will be handed off at an official farewell in the deep south of the South Island and be driven and run to Whangarei in the far north of the North Island - a distance of over 2000 km’s . On its journey north there will be relays and rallies at places like Gore, Balclutha, Milton, Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, Christchurch, Nelson, Parliament in the capital of Wellington, Palmerston North, Napier, Taupo, Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland and finally Whangarei. Making this what we believe the longest single event - and from mostly likely the smallest nation taking part.
